The FT-897 battery charging scheme: PA-26 AC-Adapter (24VDC, 1.85A) to CD-24  Rapid Charger (input: 13.8VDC at 2.3A or 24V at 2A; output: 16.5V at 1.4A) to  battery. Each battery has its own rear panel charging connector
